Tia Carr enlisted in the Marine Corps as a graphic designer in 2017, participating in several international military operations as a photojournalist. During her service, Carr was awarded three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and five Certificates of Commendation for the caliber and impact of her work. Carr separated from the Marine Corps in 2023 after more than five years of honorable service.
Carr began freelancing as a production photographer and assistant to indie film sets in New York in 2021. She studied humanities with a concentration in literature at New York University to support her work in the arts where, during academic summers, she served as a Warrior-Scholar Project Fellow, tutoring enlisted veterans and active duty service-members pursuing higher education in humanities and STEM.
Carr is a photographer, producer, and multi-channel communications professional currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
